Searching for hypervelocity stars from the APOGEE survey
Using radial velocities and spectra from the APOGEE/DR14 data, 40 high velocity stars with radial velocities over 383.4 km/s were selected. Combined with proper motions and parallaxes from the Gaia, 2 hypervelocity star candidates were further selected, providing new constraints on the nature and origins of hypervelocity stars.
