Abstract
In this study we listed major flaws in the Mathematics evaluation in China, which include compiling papers with first or corresponding authors only, limited spaces in journal publications, very long citation period, and low citation numbers. All these drawbacks have made research performance in mathematics much weaker than in other disciplines. Some suggested improvements are proposed. More extensive peer review must be considered. Diversified evaluation needs to be applied to mathematics or applied mathematics. High quality research must be emphasized.
