Abstract
Environmental impact of surface-water recharging of groundwater in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project in Mihuaishun replenishment area was corresponding analyzed. Water level and quality in 11 monitoring wells in MihuaiShun replenishment area were measured after recharge. In 2015 and 2016, the South-to-North water Diversion Project in the Mihuashun area of the Chaobai River of Beijing replenished a total of 44.13 million m3 of water to Chaobai River, with infiltration of 43.62 million m3, accounting for 94% of total water supply. Groundwater level rose significantly, with maximum increase of 13.98 near the river. Groundwater quality improved due to better quality of replenishing water and filtering effect of aerated zone and aquifer. This study provides some reference for joint operation of surface water and groundwater in Mihuashun district of Beijing.
