Abstract
This paper systematically reviews the development process of the zoology course team of Beijing Normal University in terms of team building, textbook development, curriculum construction, and student training since the reform and opening-up. The teaching team adheres to the tradition of cultivating people with virtue, exerts the tradition of passing on help, strictly demands itself with the standard of “four good teachers”, devotes itself to teaching, educates people with morality, and builds a first-class education team. In the development of textbook, the teaching team constantly updated the concept and knowledge structure, kept pace with the times, and published a series of textbooks with the greatest influence in China, such as “General Zoology”. The construction of high quality courses has always been the teaching target of the team, and a curriculum system integrating theory and practice has been formed. From the main courses and first-class courses of the university to the national fine courses, the national high-quality resource sharing courses, and the national first-class undergraduate courses, zoology has always been at the forefront of the construction and reform of zoology courses in China. First-class teaching teams, first-class teaching textbooks, and first-class courses have also become fertile soil for cultivating first-class outstanding undergraduate talents and zoology professionals.
