Abstract
The demand for innovative research methods in psychology is reviewed, starting with data collection and analysis. Application trends and potential issues of artificial intelligence technology in psychological research are summarized. The development and application of artificial intelligence technology in various sub-disciplines of psychology (cognitive neuroscience, social and consumer psychology, psychopathology, and psychometrics) are explored. The technical support provided by artificial intelligence technology for the transformation of research methods and paradigms in psychology are highlighted, as well as limitations of data-driven research, and bias of big data. The current interdisciplinary path and future prospects of the intersection of artificial intelligence technology and psychology are discussed.
