Abstract
Using the choice experimental method, the selection model of coastal wetlands in Jiaozhou Bay was developedconsidering the following six attributes, i.e., wetland area, vegetation coverage, biodiversity, wetland water quality, ecological function, and wetland landscape. On the basis of the field investigation, the random parameter Logit model was applied to quantitatively evaluate the willingness to pay (WTP) for different attributes. The results showed that the ecological compensation standard of coastal wetland in Jiaozhou Bay was 425.95 yuanper year per household, which accounted for a smaller proportion of per capita disposable income in Qingdao compared with wetlands in other regional. In addition, the farmers'willingness to accept compensation was mainly affected by their education, household income, personal health status, and whether having participated in environmental protection activities. To be specific, the individual’sWTP was positively correlated with the above four factors. Among the six attributes, the public paid more attention to wetland landscape, water quality and area change because they could affect the welfare and living standards of the residents directly or indirectly. Therefore, the protection and management of coastal wetland in Jiaozhou Bay should be focused on protecting wetland landscape, improving wetland water quality, and restoring wetland area in the future.
